Procedure Overview
What Neurosurgery Is
Neurosurgery involves highly specialized procedures targeting the nervous system, including the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. At Ceda Orthopedic Group, our skilled neurosurgeons use state-of-the-art techniques to treat complex neurological conditions, restoring function and improving quality of life.
Treatment Description
Neurosurgery addresses a range of issues, from brain tumors and spinal disorders to nerve compression and trauma. Our team combines innovative surgical methods with compassionate care to treat conditions such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, epilepsy, and more.
What It Includes
At Ceda Orthopedic Group, each patient receives a personalized treatment plan. Our neurosurgeons carefully assess your condition, using the latest technology to create targeted interventions that prioritize both immediate relief and long-term recovery. We work closely with each patient to ensure they receive the best possible care, from diagnosis to post-surgical recovery.

Neuro Treated Conditions
At Ceda Orthopedic Group, our neurosurgery services cover a wide range of neurological conditions, from compressed nerves to more severe issues like paralysis. We begin with a precise diagnosis and use cutting-edge technology to develop personalized care plans for each patient.
Neuro-Oncology
Neuro-oncology deals with the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of brain and spinal cord problems to help treat patients suffering from cancer. They also develop medical treatments for the neurological side effects of cancer and related symptoms. In this field, you may be given quality care by neurosurgeons, neuro-radiologists, radiation oncologists, neurologists, medical oncologists, pathologists, and more.
Spinal Cord Neurosurgery
When a patient gets injured and winds up with a severe wound to their spinal cord, this may require surgery to help repair the damage. Neurosurgery is useful to help remove foreign objects, bone fragments, and more. Another reason that spinal cord injury neurosurgery is important is to help with compressed spinal vertebrae, herniated disks, and fractured vertebrae.
Arteriovenous Malformations
Arteriovenous malformations are defects in the vascular system often caused by abnormal and tangled blood vessels. They happen when a collection of blood vessels in the body form incorrectly. These abnormally tangled blood vessels disrupt normal blood flow. Although arteriovenous malformations can be severe, less than 4% result in fatal effects and 1% in death. Still, arteriovenous malformations can be serious. For example, they can result in brain damage through ruptures in blood vessels that can cause aneurysms or strokes.
Functional Neurosurgery
This type of surgery helps treat chronic neurological disorders that prevent patients from performing ordinary daily functions. Patients may suffer from chronic pain and mobility issues, such as tremors, spasticity, and other physical disorders.
General Neurosurgery
General neurosurgery is useful for less acute conditions and is in a broader range of disorders and medical conditions. General neurosurgeons help to treat nervous system disorders that create physical symptoms, for example, dysfunction and pain.
Paralysis
Paralysis can be caused by injuries such as a severe blow to the spinal cord, a broken neck, or a stroke which can create long-term cellular tissue damage. Other ways paralysis can occur include autoimmune diseases, nerve diseases, and muscles in the face that dystrophy. A patient suffering from paralysis may experience the loss of muscular function in their body. Neurons cannot exchange messages between the brain and the body’s muscles, preventing movement and other important functions.
Movement Disorders
Movement disorders are a group of nervous system conditions that can cause bodily movements to be slower or reduced. These neurological conditions result in abnormal movements due to dysfunctional signaling between neurons. Medical cases can include problematic movements that are involuntary or voluntary disorders.
Trigeminal Neuralgia
Trigeminal neuralgia is a nervous system disorder that causes a painful sensation on one side of the face, which is often described as like an electric shock. The trigeminal nerve is particularly affected and carries this sensation from the face to the brain, registering as painful. Anything can trigger trigeminal neuralgia, such as the wind, eating, or brushing your teeth. It can begin with mild and sporadic sensations, but over time it can become more intense as it worsens.
Cerebro - vascular Neurosurgery
Cerebrovascular neurosurgery is required when there are complex and difficult to treat neurovascular disorders within the brain or spinal cord. These types of injuries can include intracerebral hemorrhages, arteriovenous fistulas, subarachnoid hemorrhages, and more.
Peripheral Nerve Injury
Because peripheral nerves tend to be fragile and easily damaged, it is not uncommon for older patients to suffer from peripheral neuropathy. This occurs when the nerves not associated with the central nervous system or the brain and spinal cord, become injured due to trauma. For example, lacerations, fractures, and other wounds can result in compression neuropathy. Common examples of peripheral nerve injury include thoracic outlet syndrome, radial nerve palsy, carpal tunnel, and brachial plexus injuries. The three main types of peripheral nerve injury include axonotmesis, neurapraxia, and neurotmesis.

What We Specialize In
At Ceda Orthopedic Group, our neurosurgery team is committed to delivering expert care across a wide range of neurological conditions. We specialize in both traditional and cutting-edge surgical techniques to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Surgical Resection
Surgical resection involves removing part of an organ, tissue, or structure that is diseased or harmful. Our neurosurgeons use this technique to excise cancerous or damaged tissue while preserving healthy surrounding areas, aiding in better recovery and prognosis.
Stereotactic Radiosurgery
Stereotactic radiosurgery uses focused radiation beams to target tumors in the brain, spine, and other organs without the need for an incision. This non-invasive approach is highly effective, with success rates between 80% to 90%, offering fewer side effects compared to traditional surgery.
Neurological Surgery
Neurological surgery treats diseases and disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. Our specialists use both traditional and conservative approaches to manage conditions such as tumors, trauma, and degenerative diseases affecting the nervous system.
Minimally Invasive Spine Therapy
Designed to treat spinal conditions with smaller incisions, minimally invasive spine therapy promotes quicker recovery, reduced pain, and less impact on surrounding tissues. This approach improves mobility and minimizes downtime, making it an excellent option for spine surgery.
Endovascular Neurosurgery
Endovascular neurosurgery utilizes advanced radiology and catheter-based techniques to treat conditions affecting the central nervous system. This minimally invasive procedure offers a safer alternative to traditional surgery by using small incisions and real-time imaging to guide treatment.
General Neurosurgery
Our general neurosurgeons provide comprehensive care for various neurological conditions, offering expert diagnosis, medical intervention strategies, and long-term therapy solutions to address a wide range of issues within the nervous system.
Peripheral Nerve Surgery
Peripheral nerve surgery involves removing damaged nerves that cannot be repaired, allowing healthy nerve ends to reconnect and stimulate regrowth. In some cases, nerve grafts from other areas of the body are used to replace damaged tissue, promoting healing and restoration of nerve function.
